This design was popular many years ago and has been revived

There are benefits to the tri-fin flights

First of all with just 3 fins there is less chance of getting deflections

The darts fly true giving potential for greater accuracy

For those that have the problem of the flight brushing against their face on release (sending the dart wide of its intended target) this may be the solution. These flights, with bigger gap between each fin tend to prevent this from taking place
